Millers Farm started in the spring of 2016. Kent and Ellen Miller moved to the sunny Nicola Valley to get away from the rainy Fraser Valley and retire and take it easy. Taking it easy didn't last very long as farming is in the blood of both of them. Throughout their 40 years of marriage, Kent and Ellen have always had their hands in the dirt. Ellen was raised on a dairy farm and is drawn to that type of lifestyle. When they had the opportunity to start a small farm in Merritt, it was a natural fit.
They grow all of their vegetables using organic methods with only GMO free seed. No chemical fertilizers or sewer sludge/biosolids are brought onto the land. What they take from the earth, they put back into, thereby re-storing the earths natural balance. All weeds are composted back into the soil, or fed to the goats and sheep who are always looking for snacks.
